We asked to you vote, nominate and contribute to The Well HQ Awards 2025 and thousands of you did precisely that. So without further ado …
1. Amateur Athlete of the Year
First up, with 29.7% of the vote, The Wellie Award for Amateur Athlete of the Year goes to Sara Cox for her inspiring 135-mile epic run over five days to raise £9.5m for Children in Need.
2. Women’s Sport Moment of the Year
With 19.3% of the vote in a ridiculously tough category, The Wellie Award for Women’s Sport Moment of the Year goes to Chloe Kelly for the penalty which sealed the Euros for England’s Lionesses.
A close-run second place shoutout goes to the Canadian Women’s Rugby Team for crowdfunding their way to the World Cup and having a total dillion of a tournament.
3. The Well HQ 2025 Community Champion Award
Seriously. We asked you to nominate individuals, organisation or teams going the extra mile to serve local sport and we can’t believe the numbers and enthusiasm that came back our way.
So rather than award one over the others, we decided to instead induct you all into The Well HQ’s Community Champions – Class of 2025. Read more here.
