Category:

Description

This course is designed for those training and coaching menopausal women. We’ll guide you through major menopause changes in body and mind, motivation, confidence and ability.
As coach, you need to know the many symptoms of menopause so you can encourage nourishing and sustainable exercise that’ll improve women’s health, happiness and resilience.

Many midlife women want to keep training and competing yet they struggle to recognise the body they’re in, and they lack understanding on how to train optimally.

Huge volumes of research show the benefits of exercise in menopause, but with no standard education for practitioners we have an alarming gap between evidence and practice.

This course starts coaches on the journey to understanding the menopause, so you can guide women in your care to health and happiness, and tackle the status quo.

This course offers a range of topics so you can understand the menopause – what it is and does in body and mind – and apply insights in your work. Moving in menopause can be truly lifechanging, but there are rules to follow if you’re to ensure she’s safe, happy and getting the most out of it.

Course Modules:

1. Menopause 101

This module offers a tour through the menopause: its stages and symptoms, diagnosis, treatment and solutions. It is a broad overview of menopause, and the numerous ways it can impact mind, body and soul, so you can coach and guide women, and know exactly where to go for help.

2. Midlife Non-Negotiables

Really, this is five modules in one covering the lifestyle factors menopausal women need to optimise, HRT or no HRT, to manage symptoms, feel happier and enjoy a greater quality of life. This is Sleep, Mental Health, Pelvic Health, Exercise and Nutrition as they relate to menopause.

3. Nutrition

Understand the fundamentals of nutritional requirements for midlife women and what the science says about nutrition and weight.

4. Sleep

Sleep can be very disrupted during this period. Understand what can be done to support her to have as good a nights sleep as possible.

5. Mental health

The mental health symptoms can be as (if not more) significant than the physical symptoms. Support during this time is critical to help her manage and thrive.

6. Pelvic Health

An under appreciated body nucleus, this module offers vital and liberating information about women’s bladders, bowels and pelvic floors. This is how to coach women to engage their pelvic floors and recognise risks. And how you can incorporate pelvic exercise effectively in your work.

7. Breasts and Posture in Midlife

Many midlife women start to notice niggles in their shoulders and backs, as well as changes in their posture. This module will help. It covers breasts changes in midlife and offers practical guides and videos on the stretches, strength exercises and sports bras that can make a major difference.

8. Injury Risk and Resilience

This module gives you the information you need to reduce the risk of injury in menopause. Midlife women need to keep moving but the injury risks put some women off, while others don’t know how to protect their bodies and wind up hurt. This module helps you know and reduce these risks.

9. Exercise

Most of us now know that strength and impact training are vital for bone and muscle health, but achieving results and adaptations during menopause can be a challenge. This module is full of practical videos, guides and techniques for optimal training gains for menopausal women.

10. Putting it all together

Practical training plans, frequent questions, and our resources and references to help you complete the course.

  1. Elena D.

Very useful course. A lot of very powerful and new information for me. Definitely using it on myself and my clients already.

    Thank you very much

  2. Satu Hautamäki

Thoroughly enjoyed the course. Very informative and I was able to apply my previous knowledge of anatomy and exercise. I previously knew bits and pieces about the subject, but the course put all that together. I am perimenopausal myself and needed the reassurance I am not alone, not imagining things and there are ways to cope with the changes. I will now be able to help others too 🙂

  3. Andrew HOLMES

I think the course is well priced lots of downloads to help with continual learning, there is always a perception being a bloke that you’re a bit of a fraud, the support material certainly adds authenticity to the delivery. Thank you.

  4. Elzbieta

Very basic, was able to correctly answer all questions at the end before I even started the course…

  5. sheryl Wheatland

Very informative a great course well delivered

  6. paula Buchan

very informative and well put together course. Thank you

  7. Susan Williams

I really enjoyed the course and very informative for me (56 yrs old) and my class members living with menopause symptoms.

  8. Lorraine

Extremely informative in easy to digest pieces

  9. Louise

I enjoyed the course a lot and it wasn’t very difficult. My suggestion would be to make the implicit target audience (and other assumptions) more explicit up-front. I found the course to be implicitly aimed at people who work with women who need to be motivated to become active, or at how to use exercise to cope with menopause. I work with ambitious, competitive master athletes who have different challenges around menopause, like responding less to the training and greater unpredictabtility in their performance. I liked the triathlete example at the end, but to my taste, that was not enough attention for this group.

  10. Nicola Kennedy

Great, informative, easy to follow course

  11. Sarah Pollock

I am really enjoying the course. Something I’ve been looking to do for a long time but wasn’t able to find anything like this.

  12. Karyn Hatton

Very happy with the videos of exercises for midlife women provided.
