The team she needs
Empowering women in health, in work, in life
About
Our Story
We’re Baz, Bella and Emma – the coach, the GP and the scientist. Independently, all three of us have worked with women for decades – training athletes, teaching body literacy and trying to smash the taboos that block progress. Serendipity brought us together in 2018 and we joined forces.
Puberty and menopause, biology and psychology – data and research on how women work and function are largely missing from the health and fitness disciplines. As a result, societal understanding isn’t where it needs to be. It’s a situation we need to rectify. Yesterday.
The Well is built on cutting-edge science, expertise and experience. Through community, resources and support for women and those who work closely with women, we can bridge the knowledge gap. We can become the architects of our own health, happiness and performance.
Dr. Bella Smith
My story
I’m Bella. I’ve been an NHS Doctor for 20 years and am now a practice partner in a beautiful market town in Suffolk. I’m a mum of two and I’m a lifelong advocate for women’s health. The more I see women and hear their stories, the more I feel a fire in my belly to help – to raise awareness and give women the vital knowledge they’ll need.
Baz Moffat
My story
I’m Baz. I used to row for Team GB. For years I was eat, train, row, sleep, repeat. Then a wake-up call taught me that much of what I did, thought and knew about my body was wrong. What I now know about women’s health and wellbeing isn’t revolutionary – it’s fundamental. It’s knowledge every woman should have access to.
Dr. Emma Ross
My story
I’m Emma. I’m incredibly fortunate to have a job I genuinely love, where science meets professional sport. I’ve long known that sport is a powerful vehicle for change and this thought, as well as significant personal experiences, inspires me to share knowledge I believe will be life-changing for women.

Partnerships Lead
A gym-goer, cross-fitter and distance runner, Tamara launched Blue Elvin, her own brand of protective sports apparel for women, after growing frustrated with the lack of options in the market.
